I was in town today, so I picked up some carpet and upholstery cleaner, as well as a headlight restoration kit. Also, being the impatient idiot I am, I ordered a new brake light switch from Ford themselves. It wasn’t cheap ($49.21), but it will arrive on Wednesday instead of on the 24th. I can then get the switch in, get it registered and insured, and drive it. As for the headlight restoration kit, I picked up the cheap Turtle Wax one from Walmart, and the results above speak for themselves. Crystal-clear lenses, and I didn’t even have to use the sanding pads! $16 well spent, I’d say. I’ll do some more carpet cleaning tomorrow, and post up pics of the inside. Overall, I couldn’t be happier.

If your brake switch is the one that goes on the brake bracket, make sure you are careful when you put it in. They are single use. O ce the pedal gets pulled up into position, it sets the on/off point. They should be OK if you set it while hooked to the booster. (I used to make those Brake pedal assemblies).

That’s more or less the plan. Pop the shaft on the pedal onto the boxed end of the booster arm, and then assemble as one unit.

Good deal. Make sure you put the retaining hardware back on the booster pin. that will keep it together (important for the primary stopping method), and any spacers (white one I think) will keep it in alignment. bad alignment means it could bind (also bad). there should be enough grease on the booster pin (yellow metal post with a hole in it) to keep things going. if not put some Lithium type grease on it. Those cars had the occasional issue with the brake lights staying on because of the switch locations relative to the pedals. I remember driving by the factory and seeing the yard full of pretty red lights. Same situation on the carrier trucks pulling out of the yard...

Yeah, I’m planning on popping for the Megs Dual Action system. And don’t worry, no excess vents here.

I’m looking at the drill-mounted dual action polisher for $65. I would go for a proper one, but I’m a bit cheap, and apparently the drill one is great.
